Ormskirk HospitalOverview
I have attended this hospital on three occasions prior to having had a minor operation last week, and each time I have found the staff to display professional courteous and caring behaviour, I did not have long to wait for a member of staff to attend to me.At each appointment, I was directed to a seat by pleasant and helpful Pre-op and Gynaecology Department staff. I was kept informed by all the consultant staff and given literature pertinent to the condition that needed surgery so that I was able to ask questions relevant to the condition prior to the operation.
Ambience
The hospital is set over a couple of floors, with lift access to aid patients accessibility needs, and replaces an older disused hospital further down the road. The décor is tasteful and in keeping with the idea of a hospital being a place of rest and recuperation.
Facilities
There are two cafes on the ground floor one of which is a WRVS café, and the other sells refreshments and paperback novels.
Overall
I would recommend this hospital to anyone referred for treatment in the area due to my own positive patient experience.
have had copd for some 10 years and Diverticulitis for about 5
This was explained below.
Timely call back and prompt treatment

I am a first time parent and called 111 when my 10 day old son developed a rash. We were booked an outof hpurs apointment and the Doctor that saw us was very efficient, kind, patient and proffessional. She checked our son and gave us advice for the future about what to check when a baby presents with a rash.
The girl who initially took my call was polite and caring. She was thorough in her questioning of my condition. When I received a call back from the Doctor he was reassuring and informative. He spent time with me on the phone and I at no point felt that he was rushing to get me off the line. He listened carefully to all of the symptoms I described and the circumstances in which I had become unwell and was able to correct a misdiagnosis from a Doctor I had seen on holiday.
The care I received was poor
Quick telephone response, treatment provided, advice what to do next given - really happy with service
